The Kritsa Olive Oil Factory was a major project to revive a ruined stone building that was once an important and historic building, processing the local olives into oil.
The grinding stone and beam, as well as the actual press, were left in situ.
The requirements were to have a two bedroom centrally heated house for permanent living with sitting areas, kitchen and storage plus two independent Pension suites for bed and breakfast accommodation.
After renovation the main ex-factory area was used as an art gallery and café and then later turned into extra Pension accommodation. The internal arches and fireplace, walls, windows, entrances and other major elements of the property were repaired/ refurbished/renovated and kept as near to the original as possible.
